Camelot Theme park – Chorley – November 2012

Camelot Theme park is located in Chorley, Lancashire. The park opened in 1983 and was based on the story of ‘Camelot, King Arthur and the Knights of the round table’. Camelot has seen a downturn in attendance in recent years. In 1995, Camelot’s attendance was 500,000 visitors throughout the season. In 2005 Camelot’s attendance was only 336,204 visitors. On the 4th of November it was announced by it’s operators Knights Leisure  that it will not be opening for the 2013 season due to the lack of visitors to it’s park.

  1. Such a shame about the gorgeous carousel – I hope that it is sold off and goes to good new home! Your pictures are so haunting and beautiful, they look like stills from a movie yet to be made 🙂 Possibly a very scary one!
