Horncliffe House – Rossendale – June 12

Horncliffe House was built in 1869 by Henry Hoyle Hardman son of George Hardman of Oak Hill House (now Rossendale Museum) and owner Hardman Mill, Newhallhey. Henry died in 1888 leaving his wife Emily living there and when she died in 1896 the house passed to Annie Hardman who lived there until about 1903 when the house and contents were put up for sale and eventually bought by Mr Roland Rawlinson the owner of Myrtle Grove Mill, Waterfoot.
